The Exeter Centre |
The centre is just 10 mins walk from the lovely ancient city centre of Exeter. The beautiful moors are only 10 miles away with the sandy beaches and Jurassic coastline just as close.
The house was bought in March 2004 and is a traditional English terrace built in the 1880s. It has been modernised whilst keeping
many of it's original features and includes a landscaped garden. The ground floor has a comfortable living area with the focus
centered around the open kitchen and garden. When the nights draw in, the open fire in the lounge has a warm and welcoming
atmosphere.
The meditation room is on the top floor of the house. This is a very comfortable area with impressive traditional Buddhist art although
designed to have a very contemporary feel.
The centre is a place for a relaxed and dynamic community, ideal for those interested in meditation practice, learning about the
nature of mind, and combining the philosophy of Buddhism within our everyday modern active lives.

Regular Meditation Times |
| Thursday 7:30pm: |
For newcomers there is a brief introductory talk which gives an overview of Diamond Way Buddhism, what it is
about and how it is used for the purpose of developing our minds. There is then a 10 minute explanation from a member of the group
which covers in more detail, a specific aspect of our practice. The session concludes with a 16th Karmapa guided meditation which
takes approximately 20 minutes. Any other questions you may have can be asked in a relaxed manner over refreshments after the
meditation. |
| Sunday 10.30 - 1pm: |
We have a meditation session every Sunday morning followed by a light lunch for those that wish. These are
personal practice sessions primarily for the Foundational Practices, when you can come for the whole or just part of the session to
meditate with others. Introductory talks about the Refuge meditation and the Foundational Practices are also available as needed. |
| Monday 6:30 - 7:30pm: |
A 16th Karmapa meditation session for regular members
These events are free. |
